SAL SNICKERZ
Transitioning to the early 2000s, he delved into Amateur Kickboxing, MMA, boxing, judo and Pankration competitions, winning numerous medals, and titles until eventually attaining professional ranks. Continuing his quest for mastery, he adopted Muay Thai training with various mentors in Vancouver before jetting off to Thailand in 2006 to Tiger Muay Thai for 4 months for an immersive experience. Enthralled by the culture and sport, he frequented the renowned Sangmorakot Gym under the tutelage of promoter Jar Tui in 2010, 2013, and 2015, for months at a time to learn the culture and understand the deeper meaning of a Nak Muay. Throughout his time in Thailand he was also able to clinch up a stadium title.
In 2008, he inaugurated Clinch MMA in Port Coquitlam, BC, offering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Muay Thai Kickboxing classes, integrating conditioning, submission tactics, combat training, grappling techniques, judo throws, boxing fundamentals alongside self-defence strategies. Renowned for elevating athletes from local triumphs to global accolades at elite levels within combat sports worldwide. Presently serving as an official at the BC Athletic Commission nurturing safety mandates post COVID-19 closures while organizing prominent events like BTC, Empire Boxing among others. Instrumental in shaping industry standards aiding in the formulation of COVID-19 Safety Plans aligned with Health Office guidelines.
Rooted in championing safety protocols for combat sports post-pandemic closures while assuming leadership roles in coordination of sporting events and regulatory obligations, ensuring event excellence. Embracing personal practice routines alongside instructing daily classes exemplifying dedication towards the martial arts lifestyle encompassing rigorous training sessions that inspire his students both on and off the mat.
DANIEL VALVERDE
The owner of MMA Masters in Miami, Florida where he coaches some of the top fighters in the world today.
Daniel Valverde was born on August 10, 1976 in Bahia, Brazil. Daniel is the son of Belmiro Valverde, a Judo black belt who actively competed well into his 60's. Belmiro began teaching Daniel the art of Judo from the age of four and saw him earn his black belt at age 19. In 1991 Daniel began studying Jiu-Jitsu as a way to compliment his Judo. His gym, Academia Shiozawa, offered BJJ as part of their curriculum. Daniel's first instructor was Mestre Serrinha. He studied under Serrinha until he was a purple belt, competing often. In 1996, as a purple belt, Valverde defeated a man in a Jiu-Jitsu super fight that would later become his good friend, Rodrigo "Minotauro" Norueira.
